President K.E. Percy Air Quality Effects Consulting Ltd.
Dr. Kevin
Percy is President of K.E. Percy Air Quality Effects Consulting Ltd. and lives in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. Prior
to founding the company, Kevin was Senior Scientist-Global Change with Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), Canadian Forest
Service. He holds a PhD from the University of Bristol, England, MSc and BScF degrees from the University of New Brunswick,
Fredericton, N.B., Canada. Dr. Percy has 35 years of experience in air pollution/climate change effects research and
monitoring. He is the author of over 100 scientific publications in leading journals
and books. Among these are retrospective, as well as forward-looking state
of science analyses on global, pan-national and national scales. In recent years, Dr. Percy has focused on developing
alternative approaches for analysis of exposure-plant relationships. This work has resulted in novel, standards-based,
exposure-response functions for application within an ambient air quality management context.
Until May 2009, Dr. Percy served as Principal Investigator and Steering Committee member of the world’s largest greenhouse
gas-forest experiment. The Aspen FACE (Free Air Carbon Dioxide Enrichment) User Facility is located in Rhinelander, Wisconsin
(www.aspenface.edu). Aspen FACE is primarily supported
by grants from the US Department of Energy, Program for Ecosystem Research. The experiment comprises over 100 scientists
from 10 countries.
Some of Dr. Percy’s former appointments include:
- Expert Panel on Adaptation of Forests to Climate Change; International Union

- Expert reviewer for Canada on the 2007 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
(IPCC) Fourth Assessment, Working Group II (Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability)
- Federal Co-Chair,
Vegetation Working Group, Canadian Multi-stakeholder NOx/VOC Science Program
- Coordinator, IUFRO
Research Group 7.01 “Impacts of Air Pollution and Climate Change on Forest Ecosystems”
- Coordinator, IUFRO

- Federal Co-chair, Canadian Council of Ministers of Environment (CCME) Long Range Transport
of Air Pollutants (LRTAP) Terrestrial Effects Research and Monitoring Coordinating Committee.
- Coordinator,
